A Mixed Neshamot Guide
Congrats on moving forward with your visa upgrade from B1 to A5!
This is a big step, and we’re here to help you complete it with ease. Follow these steps to finalize your upgrade and register for Bituach Leumi (National Insurance), based on recent experiences from our Mixed Neshamot community.
Request the Sefar
After your visa upgrade interview at the Misrad Hapnim, don’t forget to request the Sefar — the blue appendix that includes your Teudat Zehut number (it’s not active yet, but you’ll need it for the next steps).
Get a Record of Entries and Exits
Still at Misrad Hapnim, request a copy of your travel history:"בירור פרטים על נוסע – כניסות ויציאות מהארץ"This document shows when you entered and exited Israel, and it's required by Bituach Leumi.
Registering for Bituach Leumi
With your Teudat Zehut number in hand, head to the Bituach Leumi website and begin your registration process.
Download and Fill Form 625
On the Bituach Leumi site, search for Form 625. Download the form and fill it out in Hebrew — your partner can help, or use tools like Google Translate.
Submit Your Documents
Back on the Bituach Leumi homepage, click on "Send documents (לשלוח מסמכים)".On the next screen, choose the department:“מחלקת גבייה ממבוטחים”
Upload your completed Form 625, the Sefar, and your entry/exit record.
Wait for SMS Confirmation
After submitting your documents, you’ll get an SMS confirmation that your files were received. Keep it saved!
Pick Up Your Teudat Zehut
Once things move along, you’ll receive another SMS with a pickup time and instructions to activate your Teudat Zehut at Misrad Hapnim.
Check Your Bituach Leumi Status
To check if you’re officially registered, log in to your personal area on the Bituach Leumi website. You'll receive a temporary password via SMS. Full approval usually takes 3 weeks to 1 month.
